Why write children's books?
To this question the writer Isaac Singer said well: There
hundred reasons why I write for children. But to save time, I will cite only the most important: " Children read books, not reviews. Not care what critics think. They do not read to find their identity. Do not worry psychology. They refuse to sociology. They do not try to understand Kafka or Finnegans Wake. "They still believe in God, family, angels, demons, witches, gnomes, in clarity, scores and other inventions obsolete. They love interesting stories, not the comments or notes at the bottom of the page. When a book is boring, they yawn openly, without shame or worry of the authorities. They do not expect their favorite writer save humanity. Children know that this is not in his power. Only adults have such "childish illusions " says Isaac Singer.
